The Bell.
The brass bell, used at monthly meetings (when necessary), was a gift from the Country Women’s
Institute in Manurewa, New Zealand.
Wyke Regis WI maintained a link with this institute until it closed in the early 2000’s.
Several Wyke Regis WI members visited Manurea and were made very welcome.
The bell handle is a Maori symbol and the clapper bears an image of the head of a Maori
warrior.
