At the Easter Fair Sylvia Iliffe won a trip in classic car with tea at the Lobster Pot restaurant, Portland. The prize was donated by Do and Andy Ranson. Andy Ranson was the chauffeur for Sylvia and a friend. Sylvia has been a long term member of Wyke Regis W.I. and has appeared in many shows and concerts performed by the Singer's Group since the 1960's.
In 2016 Sylvia left Weymouth to live in Wiltshire. She is greatly missed by all, especially the Singers Group.

mystery tour
What has become an annual event, Iris Morris arranged a mystery tour for members. The mystery ended when the party arrived at Reading and embarked on the 'Caversham Princess' for a forty minute boat ride on the River Thames.
The boat ride ended at the Mapeldurham Estate where visitors can explore the Elizabethan Manor House and the 15th century watermill.
All agreed it had been a splendid day out and thanked Iris for organising another successful Mystery Tour.

93rd birthday celebration
The May monthly meeting celebrated the 93rd birthday of the Institute. The business concluded, a buffet supper arranged by the Committee was followed by entertainment from Ann Stagles - a Vice-President - and her husband Norman.
The birthday cake was made by Jackie Chater and iced by Betty Marsh. The cake was cut by Jean Noble and Betty Marsh, both of whom retired this year as Trustees of the Institute and from the Committee. A beautiful floral arrangement by Penny Seaward graced the President's table.
